Definitely lives up to my expectations

As a 22 year old college student, I was a bit hesitant to drop the $359 (+ the cost of a coverAmazon Kindle 2 Reading Leather Cover) on something I wasn't so sure I would use that much. However, after having had it in my possession for about 3 weeks, I can say with certainty I am read more now than I ever did without the Kindle. It's just so convenient to take along wherever I am going. And I fully admit to relishing any chance I have of showing it off.
I had been drooling over the Kindle 1.0 for months and was about to buy in December when I heard rumors of a Kindle 2 Reading. I held off, knowing full well I'd be seriously jealous if a new Kindle came out and I was stuck with the old one.. smart choice.
Why I give this 5 stars:
Clarity of the screen and text is superb.
Instant access to any book I could possibly want to read.
FREE basic internet... (didn't think I would use this feature but it is pretty awesome)
Easy to use interface and controls (my parents even picked up on how to use it right away)
Plays your MP3s as background music (have you HEARD the clarity of those speakers? WOW!)
And it's really pretty.
I do admit I have a bit of withdrawal from turning pages of real books, but the idea of never having another book to clutter my limited space up with after I am done reading is so freeing. Also, I don't really like the text-to-speech robotic voices, but I have never been a big audio book fan anyway. I do appreciate having the option though.
I could go on and on about why I love the Kindle 2 Reading, but I'm sure other owners already have said all there is to say. My advice to you: if you're debating about buying one, use the "See a Kindle 2 Reading in your city" feature on Amazon and go play with one for a few minutes.. They're impossible to resist.

I was skeptical at first. I love to read, and love traditional books, so I thought I would give it a try. The Kindle 2 Reading is fantastic! I have read several books on it so far - and I have only had it for about 3 weeks. It is so much more comfortable to hold and read that holding open a paperback or a heavy hard cover. I commute to work, and it always seemed that I did not have the book that I was in the mood to read. Now, I have all the books that I am reading with me at all times without having to carry several books that weigh my bag down.
I love the built in dictionary as well.
I do have to say I do not care for the magazine or newspaper feature. I rather read the paper for free online and see all the graphics.
The final bonus - I don't need to get a bigger bookshelf to house books that I am only going to read once.
